DMCA Copyright Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
LOCORA respects intellectual property rights. This policy explains how copyright owners can report infringing material on our classifieds marketplace and how we respond. It supplements our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Legal Notice.
1. Our Role
LOCORA hosts member-uploaded listing photos, descriptions, and shop content. We do not pre-screen all uploads. We respond to valid copyright notices and may remove or disable access to material that appears to infringe copyright, consistent with applicable law.
2. Designated Copyright Agent
Send DMCA notices and counter-notices to our designated agent:
- Service: LOCORA — Copyright Agent
- Email: locoracanada@gmail.com (subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice)
- Contact form: Contact page
Include “DMCA Takedown Notice” in the email subject so your request is routed promptly.
3. Filing a Takedown Notice (Members Only)
You must have a LOCORA member account to submit a DMCA takedown request through our reporting system. This helps us verify contact information, prevent abuse, and send you status updates through your Messages tab.
Each notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or a representative list if many works are involved).
- Identification of the infringing material and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it (the listing URL on LOCORA).
- Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your electronic signature (typed full legal name).

4. Our Process
- Receipt: We log complete notices and acknowledge receipt through LOCORA Support messaging when possible.
- Review: Our team reviews whether the notice substantially complies with this policy and applicable law.
- Action: We may remove or disable access to the reported listing, suspend repeat infringers, and notify the affected member.
- Incomplete notices: We may request additional information before taking action.
5. Counter-Notification
If your listing was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was mistaken or that you have rights to use the material, you may send a counter-notification to locoracanada@gmail.com including:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material removed and its location before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, and telephone number
- Consent to jurisdiction of the Federal Court of Canada or provincial courts in British Columbia, and acceptance of service of process from the person who submitted the original notice
We may restore material after receipt of a valid counter-notification, unless the copyright owner initiates legal action seeking a court order against the member.
6. Repeat Infringers
We may terminate or restrict accounts of members who are repeat infringers, as appropriate under our Terms of Use.
7. Misrepresentations
Anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages under applicable law.
8. Privacy
We process information in DMCA notices as described in our Privacy Policy. Notices may be shared with the affected member to the extent required to resolve the claim.
